Compare refund destinations. Original-payment refunds, store credit and exchanges leave different options afterward. Also check whether the window starts at ordering, dispatch or delivery, since those dates can be separated by several days.
If the item might need a fit check, find the policy’s permitted inspection conditions. If trying the shoes on would make them ineligible for return, you need to know before buying. Do not assume every product category uses the same terms.
Keep the order confirmation and the policy that applied. If the return is needed, those records support a specific request. Include return costs when comparing two shops, especially if you may need to send the item back.
